CaixaBankCase 03 · Payments

Making card declines a shared, measurable business problem.

Card declines felt like one problem to customers, but internally they sat across Fraud, Operations, Business, Analytics, Digital Channels and providers. I led a 13-person cross-functional program to bring those areas together, define a shared strategy and reduce critical payment failures.

What I learned

Experience design at scale is often organizational design.

The best interface cannot compensate for teams optimizing different parts of the same customer problem. The leverage came from making the service visible end-to-end, creating shared ownership and then translating that alignment into concrete product and operational change.
